The Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District’s second annual RED dinner and auction is planned for Nov. 2 at the Grimes Community Center.
The Raising Education Dollars (RED) proceeds will go toward supporting and promoting excellence through educational scholarships for students and teacher grants for classroom support.
Members of the community are asked to donate goods or services for the silent and live auction. It's an opportunity to showcase local businesses, products and services. A request form to donate can be found by going to the DCG Education Foundation website or by calling Mike Wemhoff at 515-343-7717.
In the past three years, the foundation has provided over 330 scholarships totaling more than $385,000. The teacher grants have also helped students to gain access to curriculum and supplies they would not have access to without this help.
Attendees can RSVP at the DCG Education Foundation website and are asked to wear red on the night of the event to support the RED. Cocktail hour starts at 5 p.m. with dinner and auctions to follow.
